GENERAL
SP-700 panels shall be manufactured by GSI Glazed Structures
International and shall conform to the voluntary performance standard,
ATSCA TSP 2-91. Panels shall be 2-3/4” thick and consist of
architectural grade glass fiber reinforced polymer sheets bonded under
controlled heat and pressure to a mechanically interlocked aluminum
I-Beam grid core.
PERFORMANCE
SP-700 Panels shall have the following minimum performance
characteristics:
A. Weatherability: Color change on exterior surfaces shall not be
more that 3.0 Units (Delta E, per ASTM D-2244).
B. Protective Weathering Surface: Tedlar is molecularly bonded to
become an integral member of the exterior face sheet during its
manufacture to inhibit discoloration and fiberbloom. No post-applied
coating is acceptable.
C. Impact Resistance: Exterior face sheets meet or exceed the
requirements per ASTM D-3841.
D. Flame spread and Smoke Development: Interior flame spread
maximum 15, Smoke 185, per ASTM E-84, Burn Extent less than 1” per ASTM
D-635.
E. Bond Strength: Maintain maximum adherence over time, and have
an initial bond strength of 1000 PSI per ASTM D-1002.
F. “U” Factors: .40. .24, or .15 per ASTM C-236 and AAMA 1503.1.
G. Grid Core: 6061-T6 aluminum I-beam that is mechanically
interlocked to ensure inner strength and even intersections. Grid core
includes standard thermal-break
H. Available finishes: Electrostatic thermal set powder coat
paint by Dupont, Morton, or Sherwin Williams. |
